DePaul Fiji Chapter Seeks to Engage Chicago-area Graduate Brothers

Here is a message to Chicago-area Fijis from our Lambda Pi Chapter at DePaul University:

Dear Graduate Brothers,

The brothers of the Lambda Pi Chapter are coming up with new and innovative ways to spread awareness around campus with our very own Islander Week in the spring. We currently have planned a water pong tournament and our annual Fletcher Flag Football event that will benefit D.A.R.E and USO, respectively. This week is meant for the DePaul campus to come together, and to promote our name as the newest Greek chapter on campus.

Going along with Islander Week, we are looking into setting up a scholarship each Fall under our name that will go to an incoming freshman, both male and female. These scholarships will be $500 each, that will go toward the students' education expenses (books, tuition, etc.)

Hopefully, these ideas are intriguing to you all and can be very successful. We would be ecstatic if you could back to us on our plans, and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Any donations, made payable to "Phi Gamma Delta", may be sent to: Phi Gamma Delta, 2250 North Sheffield Ave., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60614. 

In addition, we are looking forward to our second annual Phi Gam Pro-Am golf outing that will take place this summer. Watch for updates about this event soon.  Thanks again for your support!

Chicago-Area Fiji Chapters Attend Fiji Academy in St. Louis

All four of our Chicago-area Fiji chapters sent Brothers as delegates to the 39th Fiji Academy in St. Louis on January 3-5, 2014: UW-Madison, University of Chicago, DePaul University, and Northwestern University.

Unfortunately, I did not get photos of the Brothers from our Mu Chapter at UW-Madison or our Chi Upsilon Chapter at the University of Chicago.  But here's what I can document:

Lambda Pi Chapter at DePaul University - Chartering Weekend: November 1-2, 2013

Chicago-area Fijis:

The last time Phi Gamma Delta chartered a new chapter in Chicago was January, 1931, at Northwestern University.  Prior to that, it was in May, 1902, at the University of Chicago.

The NEXT TIME will be on November 2, 2013, as the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta charters the Lambda Pi Chapter at DePaul University in Chicago.

Be a part of history and join us as we welcome over 30 DePaul Undergraduate Brothers into the ritual and secrets of our Fraternity as we witness first-hand the chartering of the Lambda Pi Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta - the first new chapter in Chicago in over 82 years!  (For those of you interested, and who know our history of naming chapters, "Lambda Pi" refers to "Lincoln Park" in Chicago.  After the Greek alphabet was first used with our Alpha Chapter at Washington & Jefferson College, our Fraternity's first chapter, the second wave of chapters were named by adding "Deuteron".  Then, each new chapter was named according to their region.  Examples: Chi Upsilon is the University of Chicago, Chi Iota is the University of Illinois at Champaign, Illinois.)
