Chi Upsilon at University of Chicago Wins Interfraternity Sing 2015!

Congratulations to the Undergraduate and Graduate Brothers from our Chi Upsilon Chapter at the University of Chicago for winning the Interfraternity Sing competition on Saturday, June 6th!  This is a highly competitive, annual event at the University of Chicago, and Phi Gamma Delta traditionally wins or places near the top.  This year, the Chi Upsilon Brothers - both Graduate and Undergraduate Brothers join in the singing - won the Quality Cup for best in show.  Well done, Brothers!

The Sing competition followed a very successful Pig Dinner on campus last Saturday, attended by well over 100 Brothers and keynoted by Phi Gamma Delta Archon President Mike Lucas (Bradley '83). This was one of the largest-attendance Pig Dinners in Chi Upsilon's history, in part to commemorate the last few days of the historic chapter house on campus before it undergoes a major overhaul next academic year (when the Undergraduate Brothers will be displaced from the house, living on campus in apartments during the renovation).  The chapter's newest initiates - a huge 28-man pledge class - participated in their first Pig Dinner, kissing the tail of the pig.  95-year-old Frank Brunner (Chi Upsilon '42) kissed the snout.

Good luck with the house renovation, Chi Upsilon, and CONGRATULATIONS on winning the Cup!

The photo is not real clear, but I HAD to include it!  Pictured is Chi Upsilon's Frank Brunner '42, who is 95 years old.  Frank attended his umpteenth Pig Dinner, and is shown here celebrating with the Interfraternity Sing Cup for 2015!

Fraternally,
