Chicago Graduate Brother's Conference - October 7th

From time to time, we'll promote something of interest to Chicago Fijis from one of our local Graduate Brothers. Here's an event in which you might be interested, sent by Adam Newell (Purdue 2000):
I would like to invite my fellow Fiji Brothers in the Chicago-land area to my firm's 1st Annual Investor Conference set for October 7 in Chicago at Maggiano's Restaurant. This event is a great opportunity to hear learn about financial industry trends, gain investment insights on a broad array of asset classes, and get plugged in to hot topic items in such areas as alternative investing, personal finance, estate planning, and fiduciary/non-profit "best practices" - all from leading experts in these fields. We will have panel discussions and break-out sessions featuring representatives from firms such as PIMCO, Nuveen, JP Morgan, Blackman Kallick, Leo Latz, Hewitt Associates, Jenner & Block, Kirkland & Ellis, and others!
Just as important, this event will also be a great networking opportunity as the executives and decision-makers of many corporations, non-profit organizations, medical associations and educational endowments will be in attendance in addition to many individual investors who own small businesses and sit on corporate/non-profit/endowment boards. There should be much to talk about and many to talk to!

"A Good Time Was Had By All..."
We had nearly 80 Brothers attend the Pig Dinner on Thursday, April 23rd -- 50 Graduate Brothers from 17 different chapters, and the remainder were Undergraduate Brothers from our Phi Chapter at Northwestern University. It was a great event!
Thanks to Morgan Van Ness (Phi Chapter 2006) for the photo above of eight graduating seniors from Phi Chapter -- their FINAL Pig Dinner as an Undergraduate Brother! I'll try to post more photos in the coming days.

UPDATED LIST for Thursday's Pig Dinner!
Copied below is the UPDATED list of Graduate Brothers who have pre-registered for Thursday's 7th Annual Joint Pig Dinner of the Chicago Graduate Chapter and the Phi Chapter at Northwestern University. We're now up to 45 Graduate Brothers on the list, and the Undergraduate Chapter reported today we should expect about 30. So, we're at 75!
We can still accept more, so please spread the word to other Fijis you know in the area. They can pay the $35 at the door, but I NEED to know they will be attending -- please have them send me a quick e-mail message to gabjr33@comcast.net.
Remember, the cocktail reception begins at 5:30 pm, and the Pig Dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Coat and tie. The banquet entrance we'll use is at 50 West Randolph (Dearborn and Randolph), and VALET PARKING IS AVAILABLE. Otherwise, there are ample parking lots in the area, and it's near bus and EL stops. After a 15-year absence, Phi Gamma Delta proudly returns to the University of Wisconsin campus on Saturday, April 4th, and YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!
Our Undergraduates at UW-Madison have been working diligently for over a year to restore the pride and tradition of Phi Gamma Delta in Madison, and on Saturday, April 4th, the Fiji charter will return on campus. Well done, Brothers!

Fiji Archon President Bill Miller to Keynote Pig Dinner on April 23rd!
The Chicago Graduate Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta is extremely honored to have Archon President Bill Miller as our keynote speaker for our Pig Dinner on Thursday, April 23rd, at Petterino's Restaurant in downtown Chicago! This annual Pig Dinner is held in conjunction with the Phi Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at Northwestern University.
Here's a brief bio for Bill:
After many years of service to Phi Gamma Delta, Bill Miller now leads our Fraternity as Archon President. His post-graduate involvement in the Fraternity began as a Field Secretary from 1965 to 1967. He was a Section Chief from 1971 to 1979, and for 25 years, from 1979 to 2004, he served as our Ritualist. He was elected Archon Councilor by the 156th Ekklesia in 2004 and was appointed Archon Secretary in November 2005, prior to his election as Vice President by the 2006 Ekklesia. Bill continues to serve the Lambda Iota Chapter at Purdue as Purple Legionnaire, a role he has played since 1996. Four times the IFC at Purdue has named him the Outstanding Chapter Advisor among the 41 fraternities on campus. Bill lives in West Lafayette, IN, where he owns and operates an industrial supply company and manages personal commercial property, as well as family-owned farms. His community involvement has focused on the Rotary Club, both locally and internationally.

Announcing the Chicago Fiji Graduate Chapter Blog!
Chicago-Area Graduate Brothers:
I am pleased to announce the formation of the NEW Chicago Fiji Graduate Chapter Blog!
To get us started, I am showing a photo from the February 12th Graduate Chapter gathering at the Chicago Bulls' vs. Miami Heat basketball game. We had 19 Brothers attend, including 9 Undergraduate Brothers from the Phi Chapter at Northwestern University. See everyone above in the photo.
